Dreame rolls out projects to boost writers' incomes

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- Dreame, a multilingual storytelling platform operated by Stary, a Singapore-based startup, has rolled out an income boosting project for writers in conjunction with its fourth-anniversary celebration.

According to a statement, the Dreame 4U project aims to help writers of different groups earn more money from their stories.

For expert writers, Dreame has introduced the ‘Summer Update Programme’ in five languages to encourage higher-income writers to create and update their long-form original stories more frequently.

Under the programme, eligible participants would work to complete three writing missions in a month, and those who complete their missions will see up to a three per cent rise in their monthly royalty income rate.

Dreame had also unveiled the ‘Peer Review Event’ for novice writers, offering them an avenue to share book reviews and further inspire themselves.

Additionally, its newly-launched feature, ‘Make Money with Ads’ helps these signed newcomers earn faster through in-story advertisements.

In the past two years, the platform has introduced nearly 70,000 works in text, comics, audio and other versions, covering 20 major languages worldwide.

To increase readers' interest in stories, Dreame has launched a series of promotions, including the group-buy event, fueling a more than 50 per cent rise in both reads and exposure to its stories.

Apart from expanding incomes, Dreame has been protecting writers' intellectual copyrights in recent years, including launching a campaign to fight against piracy by various means such as lawsuits, setting up reporting channels and collaborating with associations and companies within the industry.
