Sweet settlement: PureCircle, Almendra resolve US patent litigation

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 20 -- Producer and innovator of great-tasting stevia sweeteners and flavour modifiers, PureCircle and Almendra have reached an amicable settlement in a patent dispute in the United States (US) relating to Almendra’s Steviarome® products and use thereof.

As of Dec 31, last year, PureCircle and Almendra, a privately-held natural sweetener and flavour ingredients company, voluntarily resolved the litigation with all claims and counter-claims subsequently being dismissed.

As part of the settlement, Almendra has signed a licence agreement with PureCircle, which allows Almendra to continue selling its Steviarome® flavour ingredients worldwide.

All other terms of the agreement remain confidential, according to a statement.
