KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 6 (Bernama) -- Xsolla has rolled out new local payment methods across Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America to help game developers reduce checkout friction and capture growing holiday demand.

“By adding preferred local payment methods players already trust from digital wallets across Africa and Latin America to BNPL options in Japan and mobile wallets in Taiwan and Portugal, we are helping studios turn festive demand into loyal long-term relationships,” said Xsolla President, Chris Hewish.

In a statement, the global video game commerce company said the update adds 10 payment options aligned with how players already transact in their home markets, aiming to drive higher conversion and longer-term engagement.

In Europe, Portugal’s MB Way now offers mobile-first checkout with instant confirmations and broad recognition, while in Asia, Taiwan’s JKOPay wallet and Japan’s Paidy Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) option provide localised, card-free payments.

Africa sees the largest set of additions, including Airtel Mobile Money (Tanzania, Madagascar), MTN Mobile Money (Cameroon, Congo-Brazzaville, Zambia), MVola (Madagascar), Spenn (Rwanda, Zambia), and Nigerian Paga and Bank Transfers rails—reflecting the region’s rapid shift toward mobile wallets and Pay-by-Bank.

Meanwhile, in Latin America, Mercado Pago in Uruguay brings multi-source wallet payments with real-time settlement.

Across these regions, mobile wallets, Pay-by-Bank, and flexible credit options continue to outpace traditional cards, especially among younger and mobile-first players. Aligning with local rails delivers instant confirmation, familiar authentication, and materially higher completion rates during peak holiday volume periods.
