KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 (Bernama) -- Nippon Kinzoku Co Ltd is set to strengthen sales of its proprietary “Super Full Annealing (SFA) Finish” carbon steel and carbon tool steel, the fifth product in its environmentally friendly “Eco-Product” series.

The “SFA Finish” softens materials without changing chemical composition by optimising manufacturing conditions, thereby improving workability and reducing springback.

According to the company in a statement, the process allows for streamlined production and higher yield rates, contributing to greater energy efficiency and reduced environmental impact.

The product has been certified as an “Eco-Product” under Nippon Kinzoku’s proprietary standards, underscoring its commitment to sustainable manufacturing and efforts towards achieving net-zero carbon dioxide emissions by 2050.

In addition, the development is aligned with the company’s 11th Business Plan, “Nippon Kinzoku 2030”, which emphasises “Near Net Performance”, or achieving the performance required of the final product at the material stage.

Nippon Kinzoku plans to expand sales of the SFA Finish, particularly in the automotive sector, where demand for sustainable and efficient materials is growing.

Among its advantages, the SFA Finish provides superior ductility while being softer than standard annealed products, with low springback ensuring stable product shape after processing.

The Tokyo-based company’s product maintains equivalent metal structure and hardness after heat treatment, making it suitable for existing industrial applications.
