GENERALI MALAYSIA LAUNCHES ITS FIRST SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME TO SHAPE INDUSTRY'S FUTURE LEADERS
Generali Malaysia has recently launched its first “Generali Malaysia Volare Scholarship Programme” to empower deserving students from diverse backgrounds to pursue their undergraduate studies in any local and private universities in Malaysia.
KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 (Bernama) -- Generali Malaysia, one of the largest general insurers and emerging life insurer in Malaysia, recently launched its first “Generali Malaysia Volare Scholarship Programme”. Adapted from the Italian word ‘Volare’ which means ‘Fly’ – the acronym for “Future Leaders and Youth’, Generali Malaysia Volare Scholarship Programme is designed to empower well-rounded and deserving students from diverse backgrounds to pursue their undergraduate studies in any local and private universities in Malaysia. The launch exemplifies Generali’s continued commitment as a responsible employer to support the country’s human capital development through education, nurture young talents and create a sustainable legacy for the insurance industry. It also aligns with the Company’s purpose of becoming a Lifetime Partner to build a safer and more sustainable future by caring for lives and dreams. Hoping to bring far-reaching impact to students, Fabrice Benard, Chief Executive Officer of Generali Insurance Malaysia Bhd and Country Head for Generali Entities in Malaysia said, “People are the catalyst of change. We at Generali Malaysia are committed towards investing in developing local capacity and talent pool within and outside our organisation. This is critical in ensuring that we have the right talent and skills to develop the insurance industry.” Generali Malaysia Volare Scholarship Programme will provide financial assistance up to RM12,000 per academic year to selected scholars, either through direct cash amount, or complete coverage of tuition fees set by the universities. Beyond providing financial aid, it also offers comprehensive support system throughout their educational journey and future career, which includes mentorship, networking opportunities and community service projects to give back to the society. Scholars are also guaranteed internship placements with Generali Malaysia, which will provide them with practical industry experience and enhance their career prospect. “We firmly believe in the transformative power of education, and our vital role in developing aspiring talents and underprivileged students in field of studies that will contribute to the growth of the industry. We hope this scholarship programme will act as a springboard for them to enhance their personal and professional capabilities, and ultimately make a difference to the community by becoming change makers in their respective fields,” Fabrice added. Scholars who meet the eligibility criteria will undergo a rigorous selection process and assessment. Upon acceptance into the programme, scholars will receive a comprehensive starter pack that includes essential items such as a laptop, bag and more, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools for their academic journey. They will also later be invited to attend a special award ceremony in July 2023. Below are the eligibility criteria to apply for Generali Malaysia Volare Scholarship Programme**: · The scholarship is open to individuals of any age. · Applicants must be Malaysian citizens. · The scholarship is specifically for those pursuing their first degree, with priority given to students in their second year. · Minimum requirement of a 3.50 CGPA or a first Class Honours (or equivalent). · The scholarship is available for students continuing their studies at local and/or private universities in Malaysia. · Eligible fields of study include Actuarial Science, IT, Accounting, Insurance, Law, and any other field related to the insurance industry or future-proofing skills. **The provided eligibility criteria are subject to change and should be verified with the Generali Malaysia Volare Scholarship Programme.
