AMBANK GROUP RECOGNISED FOR THE PROGRESS OF ITS SUSTAINABILITY AGENDA
KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 30 (Bernama) -- AmBank Group received two awards this year as a recognition for its commitment to its groupwide sustainability agenda. The Group has also shown an exceptional track record in executing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in meeting the needs of the underserved.
AmBank (M) Berhad was accorded Malaysia's Best Bank for CSR 2021 at the Asiamoney Best Bank Awards 2021. AmBank Group was also accorded the “Highly Commended” Award under the Large Organisation category at the Sustainable Business Awards (SBA) Malaysia 2020/21.
Dato’ Sulaiman Mohd Tahir, Group Chief Executive Officer, AmBank Group said “The various environmental and societal issues plaguing us has prompted the need for corporations and financial institutions to serve not only an economic, but an environment and social purpose. Today, the COVID-19 pandemic is a painful reminder that financial institutions are exposed to financial risks stemming from potential disruption to the global supply chain and customers’ operations.”

Representing AmBank Group to receive the SBA Award was Eqhwan Mokhzanee, Chief Executive Officer of AmBank Islamic Berhad, in the presence of Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Economic Affairs during a virtual presentation ceremony which was held in September 2021.
