KUALA LUMPUR, July 16 (Bernama) -- In a powerful symbol of recovery following the April 3, 2024 earthquake, Hualien County Government has launched “We Bloom!”, a revitalisation campaign centred on hope and renewal.

The initiative features “Little Rock Flower”, an original mascot embodying resilience—emerging from stone to signify growth in adversity, much like the spirit of the Hualien people.

As part of the campaign, the 2025 Hualien FUN Summer Vacation kicked off on July 12 and runs through Aug 10 at Liyu Lake in Shoufeng Township, one of Taiwan’s top travel spots, according to a statement.

Under the theme “We Bloom, Cool FUN Summer”, the event offers five free water activities daily, namely paddleboarding, water bicycles, inflatable bumper boats, tandem kayaks, and motorised inflatable scooters—all set against Hualien’s lush mountains and the lake’s serene backdrop.

Weekends come alive with live cultural shows, a food truck market, and lakeside light displays, blending entertainment with local heritage.

The festival aims to draw visitors back to landmarks such as Taroko National Park while highlighting Hualien’s strength, sustainability, and scenic charm.

The Hualien County Government hopes the event not only boosts tourism but also reinforces the community’s message that Hualien is blooming again—stronger than ever.
