TOSHIBA UNVEILS THREE-PHASE BRUSHLESS DC MOTOR CONTROL PRE-DRIVER IC KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 (Bernama)

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 8 (Bernama) -- Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation (Toshiba) has launched a three-phase brushless DC motor control pre-driver IC, ‘TC78B011FTG’ and started volume shipments.

According to a statement, the product is for high-speed motors, including those used in server fans and blowers, and in the suction motors of cordless and robot vacuum cleaners.

TC78B011FTG adopts a sine-wave drive method that does not use Hall sensor control. This helps to reduce vibration and noise.

In addition, a built-in closed loop speed control function allows a detailed speed profile to be programmed into the IC’s non-volatile memory (NVM), securing suppression of fluctuations in rotation speeds due to power supply voltage or load fluctuations without any need for an external MCU.

Toshiba also mass produces TC78B009FTG, which adopts a rectangular-wave drive method that does not use Hall sensor control, and users can select the appropriate product for their motor drive method.

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation, a leading supplier of advanced semiconductor and storage solutions, draws on over half a century of experience and innovation to offer customers and business partners outstanding discrete semiconductors, system LSIs and HDD products.
