SINGAPORE, Sept 28 (Bernama-BUSINESS WIRE) -- Sensormatic Solutions, the leading global retail solutions portfolio of Johnson Controls, today announced its predictions for the top busiest shopping days of the 2022 year-end shopping season around the world. For many countries in the APAC region, Christmas Day (Dec. 25) will be among the busiest shopping days. The annual predictions for the global top busiest shopper traffic days are informed by retail traffic data analytics within the company’s intelligent operating platform, Sensormatic IQ.
“We expect a busy holiday season at home and abroad,” said Kevin Viravec, president at Sensormatic Solutions. “Keeping up with demand, staffing appropriately, and having a complete view of operations will be crucial to delivering satisfying customer experiences as shopping peaks. The rise of truly unified commerce has boosted consumer expectations to new highs, and those expectations are likely to be even higher during the holidays. Now is the time for retailers to reflect on the experiences they’ve been delivering online and in-store so they can take steps to enhance their operations before the rush begins.”
Predictions for Asia Pacific’s busiest shopping days:
Australia: Monday, December 26 – Boxing Day
China: Sunday, January 1 – New Year's Day
Hong Kong: Saturday, December 24 – Christmas Eve
New Zealand: Monday, December 26 – Boxing Day
Singapore: Sunday, December 25 – Christmas Day
South Korea: Sunday, December 25 – Christmas Day
“Historical data will be extremely valuable in determining how to stock, staff, and promote deals during the holidays,” said Daren Ng, vice president & general manager, Asia Pacific, Sensormatic. “For the Asia-Pacific region, our forecast for the busiest shopping day this year is similar to last year, with Christmas still the strongest driver of shopping. The difference is that with the relaxation of COVID-19 prevention policies in many countries in the Asia-Pacific region this year, traffic on the busiest shopping day is expected to increase significantly compared to last year. With forecasts and insights into the busiest shopping days in each country, retailers can plan ahead and create an excellent shopping experience for their customers, so that they can seize the opportunity to get the desired revenue and achieve a prosperous and sustainable retail.”
