KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 18 (Bernama) -- Patton, a networking and communications technology manufacturer, has announced a major software upgrade and a 50 per cent price reduction for its FiberPlex FPX6000 AVoIP Gateway, a bold move that expands accessibility to high-performance AVoIP technology.
Originally launched as the industry’s first Dante AV gateway in 2021, the updated FPX6000 now supports Colibri, the latest low-latency, visually lossless video codec from Audinate, enabling seamless interoperability with every Dante AV Ultra product.
The first adopter and first to market with Dante AV products, Patton in a statement said its AVoIP gateways are easy to install and use, as the Dante controller makes routing, controlling, and monitoring audio/video traffic as simple as the push of a button.
The FPX6000 will also interoperate with Dante Audio from the Dante AV-A and Dante AV-H products, in which a software update, later this year, from Audinate for Dante AV-H will enable video transcoding between Dante AV Ultra and Dante AV-H.
Furthermore, the Patton FPX6000 gateways make it easy to insert eight channels of audio (transmit or receive) into an existing Ethernet backbone, and the solution eliminates the performance issues and management difficulties formerly associated with Audio/Video-over-IP.
In addition to providing high-performance audio and video, the FPX6000 features a convenient, state-of-the-art set of peripheral connectivity options, including USB 2.0 and USB OTG for keyboard and mouse, infrared for remote controls, and even serial signals for PTZ control.
Founded in 1984 and headquartered in Gaithersburg, Maryland, Patton has a strong global presence and a reputation for delivering reliable and innovative solutions to a diverse customer base.
