OMRON Healthcare unveils remote patient-monitoring at CES 2023 Las Vegas

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 6 (Bernama) -- OMRON Healthcare Co Ltd has unveiled Viso, a new remote patient-monitoring service in the United Kingdom (UK) to achieve its "Going for Zero" vision to eliminate heart attack and stroke at the world's largest Consumer Electronic Show (CES 2023) from Jan 5-8 in Las Vegas.

The service will help patients of chronic diseases share vital health data from their homes with their physicians while the physicians remotely monitor their patients' physical status and the medication adherence between their office visits to improve chronic care management.

According to a statement, the company will introduce a range of initiatives to detect early Atrial Fibrillation (AFib), one of the growing types of arrhythmias at the event.

“As it presents subtle symptoms that come and go, or simply goes unnoticed, it is difficult to detect the disease at an early stage. However, early detection and appropriate treatment can reduce heart attack and stroke risk,” said OMRON Healthcare.

The company has globally released the upper-arm blood pressure monitor with built-in electrocardiogram (ECG) that enables users and healthcare professionals utilise home-monitored data for the treatment and, as a result, the early detection of AFib in hypertensive patients could be realised.

OMRON Healthcare also unveiled the latest features, including a "Personal Heart Health Coach" and a "Care Team" in its OMRON connect, which has been released in the United States, Canada and Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) markets.

Additionally, testimonial from a physician who has been using the VitalSight programme since September 2020 is also being showcased at CES 2023.
